Thomas moves into his dorm room at Weber

Thomas and I drove across Wyoming to Utah and moved into his dorm room. His did not like the drive. It is a little hard with two cars and two people driving. You rubber band a lot, that is, the trailing car falls behind, then catches up close, then falls back again, etcetera.

When Thomas packed, he thought it would all fit in one car. Not the case.

The rest went into the Explorer.

The day before we met with Rachel. She wanted to help but would be working until noon. Thomas planned to move in at 12:30. He got anxious, so we moved in around 10. There were others moving in.

The dorm has one double that Thomas is in with a roommate, and two single rooms with a shared bathroom.

His room is nice. The roommate had not arrived yet.

There is an exercise room downstairs.

After getting all his stuff in, we went to Walmart in Riverdale to get all the other things he needed. He got a little frustrated with all the suggestions but it was great to have Rachel there to help. W left him to organize.

Storm behind the monument

There was a storm behind the Scottbluff Monument. I tried to take a video and it does show some flashes.

Kansas and Starship at the Scottsbluff County Fair

April scored some tickets at work to the Kansas concert at the Scottbluff County Fair. Starship opened for them. I remember more of the Starship songs than Kansas.

Cats and Turkeys

The cats went out into the backyard to a surprise. A turkey was wandering around. The tuxedo cat, Captain (aka Squeaky Toy, aka Fat and Furious) did not know what to make of them. April noticed the chicks behind the tree in the corner. The orange tabby, Clyde, eventually saw them too and began to stalk. He made it within 5 yards and charged which caused them to fly to the roof of the house.

I took some pictures of the chicks on the room and tree.

Thomas High School Graduation

The last of our kids has graduated high school. Despite his assurances that he could graduate, to his surprise he did need to take and pass one last biology test that he missed because of soccer. He did pass it with a 93%.

The reception has a table for the graduates life. This is the one for Thomas.

SHS Soccer 2018

The last soccer season for Scottsbluff High School. It was a weird one. 9 games were cancelled due to weather and Thomas missed a couple more because of his appendix. The video was the best I have done, though. Split into parts due to the limits of Blogger.

2018

2018 is here. I hope it is better than 2017. So far so good. We spent the evening watching Dick Clark's Rockin New Year's Eve. Thomas had to work at Dominos. He got off about 9. He said it was not as busy as he thought it would be. Rachel went out drinking with friends. I drove her to a house and she has one of her friend's brothers be the DD.

The cats found an old toy and all decided to play with it. Squeaky Toy is still timid and angry, but is making progress.
